I hope you’re all enjoying the summer and the welcome break from league competition!

That said, the start of both the Tenpin and Skittles leagues is creeping up on us, so it’s worth checking in with your team captains and/or keeping an eye on the website for those all-important first fixtures.

Yes, it’s back… our annual(ish) bowling ball amnesty.

We’ve removed a selection of balls from the racks and placed them under the snooker table. If one of them is yours (or has become yours through long-term unofficial adoption), please rescue it over the next few weeks and return it to the racks.

You have until mid-August to reclaim any balls before they are humanely disposed of. No balls will be harmed unnecessarily, but they will be leaving the building.

Most of you will know by now that Google and these newsletters are not exactly best friends.

A while back, Gmail decided it didn’t like the way we were sending emails and simply rejected anything heading toward a gmail.com address. My solution was to create a club Gmail account and send everything from there. That seemed to work… for a while.

Unfortunately, I’m still hearing from members with Gmail accounts who aren’t receiving the emails consistently. So, if you’ve been wondering why I suddenly stopped writing these masterpieces, it’s probably Google rather than me.

I think the newsletters are useful (and occasionally even entertaining), but probably not useful enough to justify investing in expensive bulk-mail software.

I’ll keep sending them out, but if you think you’ve missed a few, please check the News section of the website, where I’ll start posting everything as well.
