Still plenty time to get involved, this is what you need to know:

  • By Friday 12 September you must have played 9 games (split into three 3-game series);
  • You can play these 3-game series whenever you want during the time the competition is running;
  • You can enter as many 3-game scores as you want – your top three 3-game series will count to your final tally;
  • If you plan to log a score, you must indicate this to the staff before you pay for your bowling. Games are always charged at £2 per game and remember that you must pay for three games and three games only;
  • We will run two competitions at the same time, one for those with averages of 159.9 and under and one for 160 and over.
  • You will be entered automatically into the appropriate competition based on your highest average over all leagues you played in last season;
  • There is a £10 entry fee and this should be paid with your first three games;
  • The person with the highest score from their best three 3-game series at 10pm on Friday 11 September will be the winner (one from each competition);
  • Winners will receive a £100 each. Any excess funds will be donated to this year’s charity, My Name5 Doddie.

7,8,9 Pin Tap

Jimmy MacDonald & Co are bringing back the Saturday night fun nights and are kicking off on Saturday 26 September with a 7,8,9 Pin Tap competition. Usual entry fee, but the first roll-off time will be brought forward to 6.30pm to allow for sanitising between roll-offs.

Add you name to the entry sheet on the noticeboard as usual.

Norrie’s Quiz Night

Yes, it’s back after a long time away…but coming back initially as a members only event with some social distancing rules thrown in for good measure. This is what you need to know:

  • Date: Wednesday 2 September 2020.
  • Occurring: one-off to begin with but potential to roll out weekly until the leagues start.
  • Location: no bowling will be permitted on the night to allow the quiz to take place behind the lanes.
  • Teams: to follow social distancing guidelines, teams will be restricted to three (or four if you have two people from the same household). Singles and doubles are welcome if you are really clever!
  • Entry fee £1 per person
  • Prizes: The winners would get the opportunity to open one of 3 envelopes. One would be the jackpot of all the money. The second would be half the money, and the third would be the return of their entry money. Monies left would carry forward to be included in the following quiz. If no more quizzes are scheduled, then the winner on the last night will ‘take all’.
  • There will be an entry form pinned to the noticeboard or you can email Norrie (cc’d) directly.
